Membership

CAWAT membership consists of public, private, civil societies, non-governmental organizations and individuals dedicated to strategically promote changes that advance gender equality and women empowerment in agriculture, food security and nutrition.

Membership of CAWAT is open to any individuals, organizations and institutions which are interested in the objectives set forth by CAWAT.

Membership is governed by Regulations passed by the Board of Directors and approved by the General Assembly.

Types of Members

1. Founder members; these are members who formed and/or founded the organization.

2. Honorary members; The Board of Directors may grant honorary membership to any person it considers of benefit to the organization.

3. Ordinary members; these are members who join the organization after its formation and/or registration.

4. Sponsor membership: Open to any organization/persons wishing to sponsor the efforts of
CAWAT

5. Honorary members: These are members who shall be awarded such membership by CAWAT
due to their positive contributions to the community and organization objectives.

Application for Membership

Any person/organization who signs our constitution and agrees to abide by it, shall become a member without a requirement to apply for membership.

Every application for membership is made to the Executive Secretary giving the necessary particulars of the candidate.

The Board of Directors decide whether any particular individual should be admitted to membership and the criteria to be applied in making such decision.

Subject to the approval of the General Assembly, The Board of Directors may prescribe fees payable by a new member and / or annual membership fees.
